Croissant Beignets:

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated croissant dough or crescent rolls
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (for dusting)

For Frying:

  • Vegetable oil

For Dusting:

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

For Serving:

  • Honey or jam (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep the Dough: Lightly flour a work surface and unroll the croissant dough, pressing the perforations together to seal. Gently roll out the dough to about 1/4-inch thickness.
  2. Cut and Fry: Cut the dough into 2–3 inch squares or desired shapes. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry the dough pieces for 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown.
  3. Dust and Serve: Drain the beignets on paper towels, dust with powdered sugar and cinnamon, and serve warm with honey or jam.

Notes

  • For a bakery-style finish, drizzle with melted chocolate or glaze.
  • Best served fresh, but can be reheated in a toaster oven to revive crispiness.
