  • 1 pound ground pork sausage
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Black pepper to taste

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1/4 cup shredded Gruyère or Swiss cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Caramelize Onions: In a skillet, heat olive oil, add onions and salt, cook until caramelized. Stir in sugar and balsamic vinegar.
  3. Prepare Sausage Filling: Mix ground sausage with thyme, garlic powder, black pepper, and caramelized onions.
