Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 225°F (110°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the meringue: Beat egg whites until foamy. Add cream of tartar and salt, then gradually add sugar until stiff peaks form. Beat in vanilla extract.
  3. Shape and bake: Pipe or spoon meringue onto baking sheets. Bake for 1 hour, then turn off the oven and let the cookies cool inside for another hour.
  4. Storage: Once cooled, store the cookies in an airtight container.
