Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  3. Add Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Roll and Cut: Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness. Cut into rounds using a cookie cutter and place on baking sheets.
  5. Bake: Bake for 10–12 minutes until lightly golden. Cool completely.
  6. Assemble: Spread jam on one cookie and sandwich with another.
  7. Glaze: Mix powdered sugar with milk or water for glaze. Spread on biscuits and decorate with cherry or sprinkles.
  8. Serve: Allow the glaze to set before serving.
