Dry Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil or melted coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Additional:

  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare Dry Ingredients: In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, cream butter, oil, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Mix in milk and vanilla until combined.
  4. Combine and Bake: Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until a dough forms. Stir in chocolate chips. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10–12 minutes until golden around the edges but slightly soft in the center.
  5. Cool and Serve: Allow cookies to cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For chewier cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
  • You can use dairy-free butter and plant-based milk for a vegan version.
  • Avoid overbaking; cookies will firm up as they cool.
