- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon chopped green onions (optional)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, and honey or sugar.
- Add the sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Mix well.
- If desired, stir in red pepper flakes for heat and green onions for garnish.
- Let the sauce sit for 5-10 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
- Serve with freshly cooked egg rolls.
Notes
- Adjust sweetness or saltiness by adding more honey or soy sauce to taste.
- For a thicker sauce, add a small amount of cornstarch slurry and heat until slightly thickened.
- This sauce also works great as a dipping sauce for dumplings or spring rolls.
