Kidney Beans:

1 (15-ounce) can, drained and rinsed

Black Beans:

1 (15-ounce) can, drained and rinsed

Diced Tomatoes:

1 (14.5-ounce) can with juice

Tomato Sauce:

1 (8-ounce) can

Tomato Paste:

2 tablespoons

Chili Powder:

2 tablespoons

Cumin:

1 teaspoon

Smoked Paprika:

1/2 teaspoon

Oregano:

1/2 teaspoon

Salt:

1/2 teaspoon

Black Pepper:

1/4 teaspoon

Cayenne Pepper (optional):

1/4 teaspoon

Beef Broth or Water:

1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it into crumbles, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess grease if needed.
  2. Add chopped onion and garlic, cook for 3–4 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, black pepper, and cayenne; cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add tomato paste, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, kidney beans, black beans, and beef broth. Stir well and bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat to low, simmer uncovered for 25–30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve hot with desired toppings.

Notes

  • For a thicker chili, let it simmer longer uncovered.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or plant-based meat for a lighter version.
