Meat Sauce:

  • 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara or pasta sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Cheese Mixture:

  • 1 (15 oz) container ricotta cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg

Additional:

  • 9 uncooked lasagna noodles (regular, not no-boil)
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
  • Nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Prepare Meat Sauce: Brown ground beef or sausage with onion in a skillet. Add garlic, marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer.
  2. Combine Cheese: Mix ricotta, 1 cup mozzarella, Parmesan, and egg in a bowl.
  3. Assemble Lasagna: Layer meat sauce, noodles, cheese mixture, and repeat in a slow cooker. Top with mozzarella.
  4. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours until noodles are tender.
