Ingredients

Scale

Pumpkin Puree:

  • 1 small baking pumpkin
  • Water

Instructions

  1. Prep the Pumpkin: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Cut the pumpkin in half and scoop out the seeds and stringy pulp.
  2. Bake the Pumpkin: Place the pumpkin halves cut side down on a baking sheet. Add water to the pan to prevent the pumpkin from drying out. Bake for about 45-60 minutes, or until the flesh is soft.
  3. Remove and Puree: Let the pumpkin cool, then scoop out the flesh and transfer it to a food processor. Blend until smooth.
  4. Store or Use: Use the puree immediately in your favorite recipes, or store it in the refrigerator for up to a week, or freeze for longer storage.

Notes

  • You can also steam the pumpkin instead of baking it if preferred.
  • Be sure to use a baking pumpkin or sugar pumpkin for the best flavor and texture.
