A quick and healthier twist on the classic Rice Krispie treats, boosted with protein for a satisfying snack or post-workout bite.
Ingredients
- 3 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 1/2 cup vanilla protein powder
- 1/2 cup natural peanut butter
- 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt (optional)
Instructions
- Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a saucepan over low heat, stir together the peanut butter and honey (or maple syrup) until melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
- In a large bowl, combine Rice Krispies cereal and protein powder.
- Pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients and mix until evenly coated.
- Transfer the mixture into the prepared pan and press down firmly to flatten.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set.
- Cut into bars and enjoy.
