  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and cook the onions, bell pepper, and mushrooms until soft.
  3. Add the ground beef and garlic powder, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned. Drain excess grease.
  4. Stir in cream cheese and sour cream until fully combined and melted into the beef mixture. Remove from heat.
  5. In a bowl, whisk eggs with heavy cream. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Spread the beef mixture evenly in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  7. Pour the egg mixture over the beef layer.
  8. Top with shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese.
  9. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until the casserole is set and the top is golden and bubbly.
  10. Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.
