- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a shallow bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic powder, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
- Coat each chicken breast with olive oil, then dip in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.
- Place the coated chicken breasts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and golden brown on the outside.
- Remove from the oven, top each chicken breast with marinara sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- For a lighter version, use whole wheat breadcrumbs.
- Serve with a side of pasta or a green salad.
- To make it spicier, add red pepper flakes to the breadcrumb mixture.
