Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven according to the cake mix instructions and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. Prepare the batter: Prepare the cake mix batter as directed on the box, then stir in vanilla extract. Divide the batter into three bowls and tint one with red food coloring and the other with green.
  3. Layer the batter: Spoon small amounts of each colored batter into the liners, layering or swirling gently with a toothpick for a marbled effect. Fill liners about two-thirds full.
