Dry Ingredients:
2 1/4cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients:
1cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4cup granulated sugar
3/4cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Add-ins:
2cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 375°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, beat softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla extract.
Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
Bake: Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 9–11 minutes, or until edges are golden and centers are just set.
Cool: Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For chewy cookies, underbake slightly and let them finish setting on the pan.
Dough can be chilled ahead of time or frozen for later use.
