Ingredients
- 1 loaf English Muffin Bread or Pepperidge Farm Original White Bread
- 1 12-ounce tub reduced fat cream cheese spread
- 1½ cup chopped fresh chives
- 1 pound bacon (regular thickness)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil to make cleanup easier and set it aside.
- Prepare Bread: Slice the bread and carefully cut the crusts off each piece to create soft bread cylinders.
- Spread Cream Cheese and Chives: Using a knife or offset spreader, spread a thin layer of reduced fat cream cheese evenly on each bread slice. Then sprinkle about ½ teaspoon of chopped fresh chives over the cream cheese for added flavor.
- Roll and Wrap: Starting at one end, tightly roll each slice of bread into a cylinder. Wrap each bread roll with one slice of bacon, spiraling to cover it completely. Secure it by cutting the rolls in half with kitchen shears.
- Bake Bacon Bites: Place the wrapped rolls on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and fully cooked through.
- Serve Warm: Remove from the oven and serve the bacon bites warm as a tasty appetizer or snack.
Notes
- Use regular thickness bacon for best wrapping and texture.
- Make sure to roll the bread tightly to hold the shape during baking.
- Serve these bites warm for optimal flavor and crispiness.
- Leftovers can be reheated in the oven to retain crispiness.
- Can be customized by adding other herbs or spices to the cream cheese spread.
