  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Optional:

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet.
  2. Cream the butter and sugars: In a large bowl, cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla: Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
  4. Mix dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Combine wet and dry: Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet mixture until combined. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  6. Bake: Drop dough onto baking sheet, bake for 9–11 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
