Deviled Eggs

Deviled eggs are a classic appetizer made from hard-boiled eggs, where the yolks are mixed with mayonnaise, mustard, and seasonings before being piped back into the egg whites. They are creamy, flavorful, and perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon mustard (Dijon or yellow)
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place eggs in a saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let simmer for 9-12 minutes.
  2. Once cooked, remove the eggs from the hot water and cool them under cold running water or in a bowl of ice water.
  3. Peel the eggs and slice them in half lengthwise. Remove the yolks and place them in a bowl.
  4. Mash the yolks with a fork and add mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  5. Fill the egg whites with the yolk mixture using a spoon or piping bag.
  6. Sprinkle with paprika for garnish and serve.

Notes

  • You can customize the filling with additional ingredients like chopped pickles, chives, or relish.
  • For a spicy kick, try adding a dash of hot sauce or cayenne pepper.
  • Deviled eggs are best served chilled, so refrigerate them for at least 30 minutes before serving.
