  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (60g) custard powder
  • Pinch of salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup (40g) powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugar: In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
  3. Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, custard powder, and salt.
  4. Combine ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  5. Shape and bake: Roll small portions of the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Flatten each ball slightly with a fork to create a pattern. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
