  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 large egg

Curry Filling:

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 medium potato (diced)
  • 1 small carrot (diced)
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas
  • 1/2 pound ground beef or ground chicken

Coating:

  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg (beaten)
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Make the dough: Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm milk. Combine flour and salt in a bowl. Add butter, egg, and yeast mixture. Knead until a soft dough forms. Let rise for 1 hour.
  2. Prepare the curry filling: Sauté onion, potato, carrot. Add meat, spices, and peas. Cook until fragrant. Let cool.
  3. Assemble the curry bread: Divide dough, fill with curry mixture, seal, dip in egg, coat with breadcrumbs. Bake until golden brown.

Notes

  • For a crispier crust, fry the curry bread in hot oil at 350°F for 2–3 minutes instead of baking.
  • Curry bread is best served warm and can be reheated in the oven.
