Filling:

  • 1 (25 oz) bag frozen cheese ravioli
  • 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara or pasta sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta or cottage cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Garnish:

  • fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brown the Meat: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or sausage until fully browned. Drain excess grease if needed.
  2. Prepare the Sauce: Stir in the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Layer in the Crockpot: Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of the crockpot. Add a single layer of frozen ravioli, dollops of ricotta or cottage cheese, and a sprinkle of mozzarella and Parmesan. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, ending with sauce and cheese on top.
  4. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours or on high for 2–3 hours until heated through and cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Serve: Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.

Notes

  • No need to thaw the ravioli before layering.
  • For a vegetarian version, skip the meat or use a plant-based alternative.
  • You can also mix in spinach or mushrooms for extra veggies.
