Cake:
1 box (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix
1 package (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
2cups whole milk
1cup sour cream
1/2cup vegetable oil
4 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Toppings:
2cups semisweet chocolate chips
nonstick cooking spray
optional toppings like whipped cream or vanilla ice cream
Instructions
Prepare the Crockpot: Spray the inside of a 6-quart crockpot with nonstick cooking spray.
Mix the Batter: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the cake mix, pudding mix, milk, sour cream, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined and smooth.
Layer the Ingredients: Pour the batter into the prepared crockpot and spread it evenly. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top of the batter.
Cook: Cover the crockpot with the lid and cook on low for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the edges are set and the center is gooey but not raw. Avoid lifting the lid during cooking to prevent heat loss.
Serve: Once done, turn off the heat and let it sit for 10–15 minutes before serving warm with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired.
Notes
For extra richness, use dark chocolate chips or a combination of milk and semisweet chips.
This dessert is best served warm straight from the crockpot but can be reheated in the microwave.
