Wonton Filling:

  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped shrimp (optional)
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Other:

  • 1 package wonton wrappers (about 40)
  • Small bowl of water (for sealing)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling: In a medium bowl, mix together the ground pork, chopped shrimp, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  2. Fill the Wonton Wrappers: Spoon about 1 teaspoon of the filling onto each wonton wrapper. Moisten the edges with water, fold over, and seal.
  3. Fry the Wontons: Heat vegetable oil in a skillet to 350°F. Fry the wontons in batches until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Serve: Drain the fried wontons on a paper towel-lined plate and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
