Filling:
1/2pound ground pork
1/4cup finely chopped shrimp (optional)
2 green onions, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
Additional:
1 egg, lightly beaten (for sealing)
30 square wonton wrappers
Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
Prepare Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, chopped shrimp (if using), green onions, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, and white pepper. Mix well.
Fill Wonton Wrappers: Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper. Brush edges with beaten egg, then fold into a triangle, pressing to seal. For traditional shape, bring opposite corners together and seal with more egg.
Fry Wontons: Heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep skillet. Fry wontons in batches for 3–4 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
Serve: Hot with sweet chili sauce or soy dipping sauce.
Notes
You can freeze uncooked wontons in a single layer and fry straight from frozen, adding 1–2 minutes to cooking time.
Feel free to substitute pork with ground chicken or turkey.
