Bowtie Pasta:
12oz bowtie pasta (farfalle)
Ground Beef Mixture:
1lb ground beef
1 small yellow onion (diced)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
Sauce:
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz, drained)
1cup beef broth
1/2cup heavy cream
1cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional for garnish)
Instructions
Cook the Bowtie Pasta: Cook the bowtie pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Add Sauce Ingredients: Stir in tomato paste, diced tomatoes, and beef broth. Simmer for 5 minutes. Reduce heat, add heavy cream, cheddar, and Parmesan cheese. Mix until smooth.
Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add cooked pasta to the sauce, toss to coat. Simmer for a few minutes. Garnish with parsley and serve.
Notes
You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or Italian sausage.
For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream and reduced-fat cheese.
