Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Puff Crust:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs

For the Filling:

  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 2 (3.4 oz) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 1/2 cups cold milk
  • 1 (8 oz) container whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
  • Chocolate syrup for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Puff Crust: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. In a medium saucepan, bring water and butter to a boil. Reduce heat, add flour, and stir until a ball forms. Remove from heat, cool slightly, then beat in eggs. Spread dough in baking dish and bake for 30–35 minutes.
  2. Make the Filling: In a bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add pudding mix and milk, beat until thick. Spread over cooled crust. Top with whipped topping and chocolate syrup. Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

  • The puff crust may deflate slightly as it cools—that’s normal.
  • You can substitute homemade whipped cream for the topping if preferred.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
