Ingredients

Units Scale

Sausage Balls:

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage (uncooked, mild or spicy)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the sausage, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Mix thoroughly using your hands or a stand mixer until fully combined.
  3. Form balls: Scoop and roll the mixture into 1½-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet about 1 inch apart.
  4. Bake: Bake for 22–25 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Cool and serve: Let the sausage balls cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • To make ahead, prepare and roll the balls, then freeze raw on a baking sheet. Once frozen, transfer to a bag and bake from frozen—add a few extra minutes to the bake time.
  • Great with dipping sauces like honey mustard or ranch.
