  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme (or 1/2 teaspoon dried)
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • 4 slices day-old crusty bread

Instructions

  1. Prepare Garlic: Peel and slice garlic cloves. Heat oil and butter in a pot, cook garlic until soft.
  2. Cook Onion: Add sliced onion, cook until translucent.
  3. Add Broth: Pour in chicken broth and water, add thyme, bay leaf, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 20 minutes.
  4. Blend Soup: Remove bay leaf, blend soup slightly with immersion blender.
