  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cotton candy flavoring
  • Pink and blue gel food coloring
  • Optional pink and blue sprinkles or sanding sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, and cotton candy flavoring until combined.
  4. Add Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.
  5. Color the Dough: Divide dough into two bowls and tint one portion pink and the other blue with gel food coloring.
  6. Form Cookies: Take a bit of each colored dough, roll together to form a marbled ball, and place on baking sheet. Add sprinkles if desired.
  7. Bake: Bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are set. Cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For a stronger cotton candy flavor, add an extra 1/4 teaspoon of flavoring.
  • Dough can be chilled for 30 minutes for thicker cookies.
