Ingredients
Scale
Cookie Dough
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
Topping
- 12 ounces white chocolate or milk chocolate
- 1/4 cup sprinkles or additional mini chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Make the Cookie Dough: In a medium bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until fully combined. Gradually add the all-purpose flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms. Fold in the mini chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
- Prepare Pan and Spread Dough: Line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal. Spread the cookie dough evenly into the pan, pressing gently to create a uniform layer.
- Melt the Chocolate: Melt the white or milk chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl by heating in 20-second intervals, stirring well after each interval until smooth. Alternatively, use a double boiler method to melt the chocolate gently and evenly.
- Top with Chocolate and Extras: Pour the melted chocolate over the cookie dough layer, spreading it evenly with a spatula. Sprinkle additional mini chocolate chips or sprinkles on top if desired for extra decoration and texture.
- Chill to Set: Refrigerate the assembled bark for at least 1 to 2 hours, or until the chocolate topping has hardened and the bark is firm.
- Serve: Once set, lift the bark out of the pan by the parchment paper. Break or cut into approximately 16 pieces and serve chilled.
Notes
- For extra flavor, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top of the melted chocolate layer before chilling.
- You can customize the cookie dough by mixing in peanut butter or your favorite candy pieces for a unique twist.
- Store the cookie dough bark in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week to maintain freshness and texture.
