  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted and slightly cooled)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

For the Streusel Topping:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)

For the Glaze (optional):

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare muffin tin: Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a 12-cup muffin tin with liners or lightly grease it.
  2. Make the streusel topping: In a medium bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Mix in melted butter until crumbly; set aside.
  3. Prepare the muffin batter: In a large bowl, whisk together dry ingredients. In another bowl, whisk together wet ingredients. Combine wet and dry mixtures, being careful not to overmix.
  4. Fill muffin cups and add streusel: Divide batter into muffin cups, top with streusel.
  5. Bake: Bake for 18–22 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a rack.
  6. Optional glaze: Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Drizzle over muffins.
