  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons cold unsalted butter (cubed)

For the muffins:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the glaze (optional):

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 teaspoons milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare muffin tin.
  2. To make the crumb topping, combine brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.

  3. For the muffins, mix dry ingredients in one bowl and wet ingredients in another. Combine and fill muffin tin.
  4. Top each muffin with crumb mixture and bake for 18–20 minutes.

  5. Optional glaze: Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Drizzle over cooled muffins.
