Description
A classic green bean casserole made with tender green beans, creamy mushroom sauce, and crispy fried onions. Perfect for holiday dinners or comforting side dishes.
Ingredients
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 4 cups cooked cut green beans (or 2 cans, drained)
- 1 1/3 cups French fried onions
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, stir together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, and black pepper until well combined.
- Add the green beans and 2/3 cup of the French fried onions to the mixture. Stir gently to coat.
- Transfer the mixture into a 1 1/2-quart baking dish and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until hot and bubbling.
- Stir the casserole and top with the remaining French fried onions.
- Bake for an additional 5 minutes or until the onions are golden brown.
Notes
- You can use fresh or frozen green beans instead of canned for a fresher taste.
- Make ahead and refrigerate until ready to bake, adding fried onions just before baking.
- Try adding shredded cheese or sautéed mushrooms for variation.
