Dry Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

Wet Ingredients:

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt or sour cream
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted

Cinnamon Swirl:

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix milk, egg, vanilla extract, yogurt (or sour cream), and melted butter until smooth.
  4. Combine Batter: Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Prepare Cinnamon Swirl: In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Layer Batter: Pour half of the batter into the loaf pan, sprinkle half of the cinnamon mixture over it, then pour the remaining batter and top with the rest of the cinnamon mixture. Swirl with a knife.
  7. Bake: Bake for 45–50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • For added sweetness, drizzle with a simple glaze made from powdered sugar and milk once the bread is cool.
  • You can substitute sour cream with plain yogurt if desired.
