1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 200°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
Prepare the meringue: In a large mixing bowl, beat egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar, beating until stiff peaks form. Mix in vanilla extract.
Add color: Fold in food coloring if desired for a festive touch.
