Ingredients

Units Scale

Cookies:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Topping:

  • About 36 Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugars: In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  3. Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  4. Bake: Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden but the centers are still soft.
  5. Add Kisses: Immediately press one unwrapped Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
