Wet Ingredients:
1cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted and slightly cooled
1/2cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2cup granulated sugar
1/2cup brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients:
1cup all-purpose flour
1/2cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks (for mixing in)
Instructions
Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs and vanilla until smooth.
Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients: Add the melted chocolate and mix until fully incorporated. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
Finish Dough: Fold in the remaining chocolate chips or chunks.
Bake: Drop tablespoon-sized scoops of dough onto the prepared baking sheets. Bake for 9–11 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers still look slightly soft.
Cool and Serve: Let cool on the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For an extra fudgy texture, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
Add a pinch of sea salt on top before baking for a sweet-salty finish.
