1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2cup unsalted butter (softened)
3/4cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2cup whole milk
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
For the cookie dough filling:
1/2cup unsalted butter (softened)
1/4cup brown sugar
1/4cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons milk
3/4cup all-purpose flour (heat-treated)
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
For the frosting:
3/4cup unsalted butter (softened)
3/4cup brown sugar
1 1/2cups powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2–3 tablespoons heavy cream
pinch of salt
Instructions
For the cupcakes: Preheat oven and prepare cupcake liners. Mix dry ingredients. Cream butter and sugar, add eggs and vanilla. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk. Fold in mini chocolate chips. Bake and cool.
For the cookie dough filling: Prepare filling, chill, and stuff into cooled cupcakes.
For the frosting: Make frosting, pipe or spread onto cupcakes, and garnish as desired.
Notes
Heat-treat the flour for the filling to make it safe to eat raw.
Store cupcakes in the fridge and bring to room temperature before serving.
