For the Chicken Patties:
1pound ground chicken
1 chipotle pepper in adobo sauce (minced)
1 tablespoon adobo sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
For Serving:
4 burger buns
4 slices cheddar cheese
1 avocado (sliced)
1/2 red onion (thinly sliced)
lettuce leaves
1/4cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon lime juice
1 teaspoon honey
Instructions
In a large bowl, prepare the chicken patties: Combine ground chicken, minced chipotle pepper, adobo sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix gently and form into 4 equal patties.
Cook the patties: Heat a grill or skillet over medium heat, oil the surface, and cook patties for 5–6 minutes per side or until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Make the chipotle mayo: In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, lime juice, and honey.
Assemble the burgers: Toast buns if desired. Assemble burgers with lettuce, chicken patty, cheddar cheese slice, avocado, red onion, and chipotle mayo.
Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
For extra heat, add another chipotle pepper or hot sauce to the chicken patty mixture.
These patties can also be cooked in an air fryer or on an indoor grill for convenience.
