  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger

For the Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth or water
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)

For Garnish:

  • sesame seeds
  • sliced green onions

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, cornstarch, brown sugar, and chicken broth until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced chicken and stir-fry for 4–5 minutes until fully cooked. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Stir-Fry: Add the remaining oil to the skillet. Stir-fry garlic and ginger for 30 seconds. Add broccoli and cook for 2–3 minutes. Return chicken to the pan.
  4. Add Sauce: Pour the sauce over the chicken and broccoli. Toss to coat evenly and stir-fry for another 2–3 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
  5. Finish: Drizzle with sesame oil if using. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot over steamed rice.

Notes

  • For extra tenderness, marinate the chicken in soy sauce and cornstarch for 15 minutes before cooking.
  • You can also use snow peas or bell peppers for added color and crunch.
