For the Meatloaf:
1 1/2pounds ground chicken
1/2cup plain breadcrumbs
1 large egg
1/4cup milk
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For the Filling:
6 slices deli ham
1cup shredded Swiss cheese (divided)
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional for garnish)
Instructions
Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a loaf pan with parchment paper or grease.
Mix the meatloaf: In a bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Press half into the loaf pan.
Layer the filling: Add ham slices, half of the Swiss cheese, then the remaining meat mixture. Bake for 45–55 minutes.
Finish baking: Sprinkle the remaining Swiss cheese on top and bake until melted. Rest before slicing and garnish with parsley.
Notes
For a crispier top, broil for 1–2 minutes after adding the cheese.
You can use Gruyère as a Swiss cheese alternative.
