Description

This Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole is a comforting twist on the classic dish, combining layers of tender chicken, ham, and Swiss cheese with a creamy Dijon sauce and crunchy topping — all baked in one easy dish.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded or chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups diced cooked ham
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup crushed Ritz crackers (or breadcrumbs)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine cream of chicken soup, sour cream, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Stir in the cooked chicken and ham until well coated.
  4. Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle shredded Swiss cheese over the top.
  6. In a small bowl, mix crushed crackers with melted butter, then sprinkle evenly over the cheese layer.
  7. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until hot and bubbly and the topping is golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve warm.

Notes

  • You can substitute Swiss with mozzarella or provolone for a milder flavor.
  • This casserole can be prepped ahead and refrigerated until ready to bake.
  • Serve with a green salad or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
