  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Dumplings:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (cold, cubed)
  • 1/2 cup whole milk

Instructions

  1. Main Stew: In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion, carrots, and celery; cook until softened. Stir in garlic. Add chicken broth, shredded chicken, thyme, pepper, and salt. Simmer.
  2. Dumplings: Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter, stir in milk. Drop spoonfuls onto stew. Cover and cook for 15–20 minutes.
