Description

A hearty and comforting dish, Cheesy Beef and Bowtie Pasta combines tender ground beef with bowtie pasta in a rich, cheesy tomato sauce. Perfect for a family-friendly weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 12 oz bowtie pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the bowtie pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
  5. Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  6. Add cooked pasta to the skillet and stir to combine with the sauce.
  7. Stir in cheddar and mozzarella cheese until melted and well combined.
  8. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top and cook for another 2-3 minutes until everything is hot and bubbly.
  9. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • Can be made ahead and reheated; add a splash of water if it dries out.
  • Great for meal prep—stores well in the fridge for up to 4 days.
