Ground Beef Mixture:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 (1 oz) packet taco seasoning
  • 1 (4 oz) can diced green chiles

Sour Cream Layer:

  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided

Additional Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 (8 oz) can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup crushed tortilla chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook Ground Beef: In a skillet, cook the ground beef and onion until browned. Drain excess fat. Stir in taco seasoning and green chiles; cook for 2 minutes.
  3. Prepare Sour Cream Mixture: In a bowl, mix sour cream, mayonnaise, and half of the cheddar cheese.
  4. Assemble Casserole: Press crescent dough into the baking dish. Layer beef mixture, sour cream mixture, tortilla chips, remaining cheddar cheese, and mozzarella cheese.
  5. Bake: Bake for 25–30 minutes until cheese is melted and crust is golden brown. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
