A flavorful Italian-style dipping oil made with herbs and spices, inspired by Carrabba’s Italian Grill. Perfect for serving with warm, crusty bread.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic (fresh)
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for garnish)
  • Crusty bread, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine all the dried herbs and spices: basil, parsley, garlic powder, rosemary, oregano, red pepper flakes, black pepper, and salt.
  2. Add the minced fresh garlic to the mixture and stir well to combine.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a serving dish or small shallow bowl.
  4. Pour the extra virgin olive oil over the herb mixture.
  5. Garnish with freshly grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
  6. Serve with warm, crusty bread for dipping.

Notes

  • You can blend the dry herbs and spices into a finer texture using a spice grinder or mortar and pestle.
  • Store leftover dry mix in an airtight container for quick use later.
  • Adjust the spice level by increasing or decreasing the red pepper flakes.
