  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon honey

For the Caprese Salad Bites:

  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes
  • 1 (8 oz) package fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini or ciliegine)
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 20 toothpicks for assembly

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Balsamic Reduction: In a small saucepan, combine the balsamic vinegar and honey. Simmer over medium heat for 5–7 minutes until thickened into a syrupy reduction. Let cool.
  2. Assemble the Caprese Salad Bites: Skewer a cherry tomato, basil leaf, and mozzarella ball onto each toothpick. Arrange on a platter. Drizzle with olive oil, season with salt and pepper.
  3. Finish and Serve: Drizzle the cooled balsamic reduction over the bites just before serving.
