Caprese Christmas Wreath

Festive and flavorful Caprese wreath made with fresh mozzarella, ripe tomatoes, basil, and a balsamic drizzle—perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini or ciliegine)
  • 2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbsp balsamic glaze
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: 2 tbsp pine nuts, toasted

Instructions

  1. Drain the mozzarella and pat dry.
  2. Slice cherry tomatoes in half.
  3. On a large round platter or board, arrange basil leaves in a wreath shape.
  4. Alternating evenly, place mozzarella balls and tomato halves around and on top of the basil wreath.
  5. Drizzle olive oil over the assembled wreath.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Drizzle balsamic glaze over the wreath.
  8. Sprinkle toasted pine nuts over the top if using.
  9. Serve immediately or chill briefly before serving.

Notes

  • Use high-quality, ripe tomatoes and fresh mozzarella for best flavor.
  • You can make this ahead of time, but wait to drizzle balsamic until just before serving to keep presentation sharp.
  • Feel free to add colored cherry tomatoes (yellow or orange) for extra festive color.
