Sweet Potatoes:
4 large sweet potatoes (peeled and sliced into 1/2-inch rounds)
Candy Sauce:
1/2cup unsalted butter
1/2cup brown sugar
1/4cup maple syrup
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Prepare sweet potatoes: Arrange the sweet potato slices evenly in the dish.
Make candy sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the brown sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
Candy sweet potatoes: Pour the sauce over sweet potatoes, cover with foil, and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover, baste with syrup, and bake for 20–25 minutes until tender and caramelized. Serve warm.
