Butter Pecan Syrup

A rich, buttery syrup infused with the warm, nutty flavor of toasted pecans, perfect for pancakes, waffles, or ice cream.

  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, toast the chopped pecans over medium heat for about 3-4 minutes until fragrant.
  2. Add the butter and stir until melted.
  3. Stir in the brown sugar, heavy cream, and salt. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens slightly.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Let the syrup cool slightly before serving. It will continue to thicken as it cools.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • Reheat gently before serving if it thickens too much.
  • Use toasted pecans for enhanced flavor.
