For the Butter Pecans:

  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

For the Syrup:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Butter Pecans: In a skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add chopped pecans and brown sugar. Cook until pecans are toasted and fragrant. Remove from heat and set aside.
  2. Make the Syrup: Ia saucepan, combine granulated sugar and water. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Combine: Stir the butter pecans into the syrup mixture. Serve warm over your favorite dishes.

Notes
